Migraine is one the most common and painful neurological disease. According to Turkish Headache Epidemiology Study Group’s research, at the age group 15-55, the prevalence of migraine on women is percent
21.8 and 10.9percent for men . Migraine pain is common for women two to three times more than men.

The patients are curious about the questions below:

1- How was the migraine surgery located in the plastic surgery?
Patients with simultaneous migraine complaints wih the Face lift surgery got rid of migraine pain after the operation,
therefore endoscopic al migraine surgery arised. We have already seen that the pressure of some muscles that we cut on the nerves was removed during the forehead lifting and eyebrow lifting surgeries. And we started to implement this treatment to
the patients with migraine frequently .

2 - Who is the ideal migraine surgery patients?
The operation is implemented to the patients who previously have been diagnosed with migraine by neurology experts and who has definite alert points that start the pain.

3 – What is the place of botox in migraine surgery?
It is possible that some nerves that origin from face and nape area can be pressed by muscles or some vessels. If the patient describes that the pain starts from these trigger points , we first inject a toxincalled botox to those trigger points and remove the pressure that the muscles do to the nerves. Taking good results from Botox proves that the patient is a candidate for migraine surgery at the same time. It can be stated that Botox is both helpful at diagnosis of appropriate patient and when the effect occurs, patients want the permanence of the treatment. This is where the endoscopical plastic surgery comes into play.

4 - How is the operation being performed?
Depending on the number of trigger points it can be performed under local or general anesthesia . The process for each point takes approximately 1 hour. Special endoscopic instruments with camera is entered through scalp for nerves in the forehead and temples and we make the muscles free that has a pressure effect on nerves in those areas..

5 – Will my nerves be damaged?
We do not cut the nerves in the operation, the nerves still retains their old function. We only eliminate the pressure on them.

6 - What will I face after the operation?
If the process has been done with local anesthesia one can return to normal life immediately after the operation. As for the operation under general anesthesia, we recommend 1-day rest.
