Skin thickness and flexibility will be lost in our body over time. Subcutaneous adipose tissue dissolves, the muscles and bone tissue weakens, and as a result of this the flabbiness in the skin becomes more obvious. With the influence of gravity, the skin is pulled downwards. In addition to the flabbiness in the skin, the amount of accumulated fatty tissue varies among people. Therefore, each patient should be evaluated seperately.

 

The patients are curious about the questions below:

1- Is it possible to apply Arm Streching Surgery in conjunction with the other surgeries?
Arm Streching Surgery ( Arm Lift ) could be done without the other surgeries. It can also be done with the other surgeries
such as abdominal lift; breast reduction or enlargement; and leg streching. In preoperative evaluation, the amount of fat tissue in inner arm and the degree of flabbiness should be paid attention.

2- Will the patients have any trace after the operation?
In recent years, the traces are hidden with the aid of developed methods. After the operation, it is recommended to
massage the surgical area with steroid creme in order to minimize the scars. If necessary, silicon sheet can be applied.

3-How do I make an application if the fat accumulation is a lot?
If the skin is qualified and there is no flabbiness, successful results are obtained only in cases where fat accumulation is excessive and successful results can be achieved by liposuction ( liposuction with vacuum ).
However, liposuction will be insufficient if the patient has both fatty tissue and flabbiness. Therefore excessive tissue should be removed. In the same session, if necessary, liposcution can be done to the other parts of the arm.
Arm Streching Surgery can be done under general anesthesia as well as local anesthesia.

4- What will happen after the operation?
After the operation, the arm is wrapped in soft bandages and after this pocess the patient can go home approximately 1 or 2 hours later. The next day the bandages will be opened secondly the operaion zone will be checked and the patient will wear a special arm corset for three weeks. The patient is recommended to keep his/ her arms high and apart from that, there is no point to pay attention.
